March 13th, 2023. Visiting a school as a guest teacher for the Guest teachers Foundation World War II South East Asia

As a guest teacher for the Guest teachers Foundation World War II South East Asia, I still give lectures at schools such as primary schools, secondary schools and higher education institutions.

Like on March 13th, 2023 when I visited  a school called The Dukdalf in the city of Almere.

Our goal is to generate more awareness and knowledge among young people about the periods in the Southeast Asian region before, during and after the Second World War in the previous century.

But at the same time we also try to draw parallels to contemporary times in which wars unfortunately still exist.

For example, there are still leaders of countries who believe that they can just invade other countries and sacrifice their own soldiers and kill citizens of other countries.

Look at what is currently happening in the Ukraine.

Since the end of World War II more than 75 years ago, wars have broken out and been fought on nearly every continent, killing thousands of innocent civilians.

It seems like we humans never learn from our mistakes.

But we must keep trying to make children wiser than we have been.

Giving information about dark pages of our human history is one way to achieve that.
