Ron Lindeman Song for Milly live at Bij Meys – June 17, 2020

Had a nice evening June 17th, 2020 as a guest in a talk show on EasyFM radio with a nice talk show host Wicky van der Meys. Together with another guest Sandy Bosmans we talked about art, poetry, ghostwriters, music and such subjects. I also played one of my songs. It was a very nice live broadcast.

I sang one of my own original songs called Song for Milly.

It was originally written back in 2010 for the parents of a young girl called Milly Boele. Milly was a twelve year old girl who was raped and murdered by a neighbour who was a policeman. This happened in the Dutch city Dordrecht in The Netherlands.

I was asked to write a song about saying goodbye to a loved one, as a sort “in memory of” song, in this case in memory of Milly Boele. I perfomed this song life out in the street in front of the parents of Milly Boele, her brother and sister end other family members at their home in the city of Dordrecht. A lot of people were also gathered around us at this gathering. It was a quite emotional gathering at the time. Two houses next to the home of Milly Boele was the house of the policeman who murdered her. He was arrested after two weeks or so and later sentenced to 18 years in imprisonment and after that forced admission to a forensic mental institution.
